This is a test

Grant funding:

I was talking to Pat about getting the technology we need to use these tools into our classroom.  Here are two links.  The HP grant is collaborative and is not to difficult to get from what I hear.  The DonorsChoose link was suggested by Pat and sound awesome.  Unfortunately they do not servce our area yet… If we all registed it would push them to serve DE.

Post away!

Welcome to the outside of the Fischbowl.

Also, please feel free to make oral comments during the presentation: no hand-raising necessary!

What do you want in our presentation tomorrow?

We’ve all created a rubric collaboratively. Shouldn’t that guide what is in the presentation? If we’ve done a good job on the rubric, that should enable each of us to decide if a project is good.

But what about the presentation. Now we need to think about what’s the point of the presentation. From my point of view, I want all of the class to be able to apply the rubric to all of your projects. From your point of view, you want to get everyone in the class to collaborate on your project. (Can you say “Tom Sawyer”?) So, how are you going to present your ideas in a way that everyone else will understand your plan and want help you improve it.

– You know Aunt Polly wouldn’t want just anyone painting her fence….

I was on my way to bed ( I spend too much time on the computer) when I decided to check my RSS feeds for my favorite blogs. I found a post by Will Richardson that addressed some things Dave and I discussed during class Wednesday. Later in his post, Richardson talked about the phenomenal conversations taking place at the Bloggers Cafe during NECC. He linked to a wonderful post by Jeff Utech. From his post, I followed a  commenter’s link to another post about the Cafe. Suddenly, I realized I was witnessing a possible tipping point. Heady stuff when one begins to recognize patterns.

Ed Tech Teachers
Today, I met a wonderful group of educators who are all taking a class in learning how to integrate Web 2.0 technologies into their curricula. I have learned so much from their experiences as they progress through this course. They are insightful and dedicated to engaging their students’ abilities and pushing them into higher order thinking. I look forward to continued collaboration with these fine scholars as we carry the message to our schools about using technology tools to help us deepen our students’ abilities as they learn how to learn.
